Rachel specialises in maritime decarbonisation helping clients navigate the decarbonisation landscape and respond to the regulatory, commercial, and practical issues arising from emissions reduction and energy transition.
Rachel works with clients throughout the maritime ecosystem including major ship owners, charterers, cargo interests, traders and insurers.
Rachel's decarbonisation work includes interpreting new and revised emissions regulations for maritime (EU MRV, EU Emissions Trading Scheme, FuelEU Maritime, EEXI and CII), advising on impact, developing contract provisions, adapting corporate responsibility programmes and providing strategic decarbonisation guidance to C-suite. She has written and presented widely on maritime decarbonisation issues and has played an active role in working groups of the IMO, DfT, ZESTA and BIMCO.
Rachel has experience in-house as well as in private practise and has handled numerous international maritime disputes throughout her career, including LMAA and ad hoc arbitrations and High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings.
